Painting Grand Canyon – An Artist’s Ultimate Experience

Sedona Arts Center

My name is Gregory Hull and I am an artist, a landscape painter to be exact. I work from nature oftentimes on the spot or “en plein air”. I love painting Grand Canyon and the Colorado River for many reasons. Today, I share with you of the most inspiring places on Earth: the Grand Canyon. The Grand Canyon is a place where communicating with nature defies the commonplace.

I have done two raft adventures in the Grand Canyon with the specific purpose to paint from nature and create works which depict my inspiration. In May of 2014, I will lead painting Grand Canyon artist trip. The goal is to paint stunning locations unique to the planet. In addition, I will provide feedback and informative instruction to the members of this expedition. Our river guides are experienced in the needs of the artists and their materials and know the camping sites that are suitable for scenic inspiration.

Hi John, thanks for asking! We only run those specifically if they’re chartered through an organization, so at this time, we do not have any charters running a Plen-Air trip through us. If you know of an organization that might be interested, we’d love to have them, so send them our way! Thanks for reading our blog. 🙂
