Sustainable Eco-Tourism with Arizona Raft Adventures

Sustainable Eco-Tourism with Arizona Raft Adventures: Millennials Leading the Way

Millennials, also known as Generation Y, increasingly prioritize sustainability and environmental responsibility in their travel choices. This is very important to us as a Grand Canyon outfitter because we make as many choices to be sustainable as possible! As this generation seeks meaningful and eco-friendly experiences, we offer an ideal opportunity for them to connect with nature while making a positive impact. If you’re a Millennial, or of any other generation, and you’re wondering how to make your adventure as sustainable as possible, keep reading.

Choosing A Responsible Company

Selecting a responsible and environmentally conscious Grand Canyon rafting company is crucial for an eco-friendly trip. We stand out by prioritizing sustainable practices such as minimizing waste, choosing sustainable companies as partners and suppliers, using reusable products, sourcing as much local food as possible, having solar on our property, and so much more. By going with us, guests support responsible tourism and contribute to its growth.

Pack Light and Pack Right

Responsible travel begins with mindful packing. Arizona Raft Adventures (AzRA) encourages guests to pack lightly, bringing only essential items to reduce the travel weight, as well as generally reducing how much you are purchasing. Millennial travelers often opt for reusable and eco-friendly products and avoid single-use plastics and excess packaging. When purchasing from our retail store, we are constantly mindful of using less single-use plastics, excess packaging, and as many biodegradable products as possible.

Respect Nature and Wildlife

When exploring in Grand Canyon, you want to stay on designated trails, maintain a safe distance from wildlife, and practice Leave No Trace principles. These are all practices on our adventures that we educate our guests on constantly throughout the trip, ensuring Grand Canyon is preserved for future generations.

Support Local Conservation Efforts

AzRA actively supports local conservation efforts and initiatives constantly throughout the year. As a company who takes part in 1% for the Planet, it is important to us to give to local efforts to keep Grand Canyon protected. We also teach our guests how they can contribute to preserving the Canyon’s natural and cultural heritage. Each year, AzRA offers their guests and employees the opportunity to donate to organizations we support, and in return, AzRA will match that donation up to $100. This allows Millennials and all other generations an opportunity to support the long-term sustainability of Grand Canyon and give back to the local region.

In addition to the above, we encourage our guests to donate any items they don’t think they’ll use anymore to an organization in Flagstaff called Grand Canyon Youth. They take youth on river trips all over the southwest region, and they lend gear to the youth. Any donations our guests provide go straight to helping youth have everything they need for their outdoor adventures.

Learn and Educate

AzRA provides educational experiences, allowing guests to learn about the unique ecosystems, geology, and history of Grand Canyon. Engaging with knowledgeable guides truly adds to this adventure. Millennials are encouraged to share their newfound knowledge once returning home, spreading awareness about sustainability and eco-tourism to inspire others to make a positive impact.

Leave a Positive Review

After the Grand Canyon rafting trip, millennial guests can leave positive reviews highlighting AzRA’s sustainable practices and environmental efforts. This feedback encourages other travelers to choose responsible operators, which helps preserve this iconic natural wonder. Amplifying the voices of eco-conscious tourists helps create a culture of sustainability within the travel industry.

Join Us!

AzRA is an ideal outdoor industry leader for millennials to embrace sustainability and eco-tourism principles. By making conscious choices, supporting a responsible tour operator, respecting nature, and sharing knowledge, young travelers can positively impact the environment while enjoying an unforgettable adventure. Come explore the Grand Canyon with AZRA in a way that preserves its beauty for generations to come, inspiring others to follow in our footsteps of responsible travel.
