PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP ADVENTURES

GRAND CANYON PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOPS

Is your first love photography? If so, there are various options for photography on our Grand Canyon rafting adventures. The naturally, beautiful backdrop of every location in Grand Canyon offers the prime opportunity to catch some of the visually stunning photos you’ve likely ever captured. These trips allow you to bring the equipment you need and gives you the time you desire to photograph one of the most beautiful and challenging subjects in the world. The opportunities for amazing photos are endless: from big horn sheep with newly born lambs, blooming prickly pear cacti and trickling streams meandering through slick rock, to expansive views with clouds and sunlight, or the evening sunset glow reflecting off the Canyon walls. We offer two opportunities for photography-specific Grand Canyon rafting adventures!

Option 1: Join one of our regularly scheduled photography specific trips.
Every year, we have two preferred photography charters who run photography workshops: Visionary Wild and Marc Muench Workshops. The photography instructors at Visionary Wild and Marc Muench Workshops have vast experience in Grand Canyon and know the best locations and times to capture images of the canyon. Both of these organizations offer motorized adventures down the Grand Canyon with Arizona Raft Adventures. You’re sure to find an option that works best for your travel and timing needs!

For the 2024 season, we have Ralph Hopkins returning to run a non-motorized photography charter in April. His trip offers 15 days on 5 oar rafts and one dory boat. He has ran trips with AzRA for 10+ years and knows exactly where to find the best images to capture.

Option 2: Charter your own photography adventure or workshop!

If you’re a photographer, and would like to take a group of fellow photographers down river, you have the opportunity to do so with us. This will need to be organized about 2 years in advance in order to get scheduled on an adventure of your preferred time and type. You could charter a Classic Adventure or Motorized Adventure, whichever would work best for your group. For additional details, read our blog on putting together a great charter adventure. Feel free to call or email us directly for more details on organizing a photography charter.

Lastly, you are always welcome to take photos while on our standard Classic, All-Paddle or Motor Adventures.
