Flagstaff Locals Favorite Restaurants

Below is the list of some of our favorite Flagstaff restaurants for you to enjoy while you’re in Flagstaff for your Grand Canyon rafting trip, or any other time you’re visiting Flagstaff! These restaurants are all over Flagstaff, and all offer great group dining experiences.

Silver Pine Restaurant (in Little America Hotel): 928-779-7700-$$-$$$
The Silver Pine Restaurant offers a full bar, as well as a sit-down restaurant. They have a nice outdoor patio area for large group seating as well. They feature American fare from burgers and salads to salmon and homemade frites.

Bandaleros 66 (or B66): 928-223-4517 $$
A TexMex restaurant in downtown Flagstaff with a lovely indoor or outdoor environment. Seating for large groups available, but must call to check on availability for a large party first.

Tinderbox: 928-226-8400. Large group seating outside only-$$$
This is a higher-end restaurant in Flagstaff that offers upscale American dining. It’s a fun atmosphere in downtown Flagstaff, sure to set you in the Flagstaff mood!

Himalayan Grill: 928-213-5444- $$
They service recipes from India, Tibet and Nepal, so if you’re looking for something different than your standard American fare, be sure to check this place out. They do have seating for larger groups.

1899 Bar and Grill: 928-523-1899- $$$
We have a lot of American-style food in Flagstaff, and here’s another one! They serve up steaks, lamb burgers, as well as some vegan/vegetarian options like a bowl of zoodles with roasted veggies, and some gluten-free, dairy-free items.

Brix: 928-213-1021- $$$
Larger groups over 15 probably won’t fit too comfortably in their restaurant, but set in Flagstaff’s downtown, this is a wine bar and restaurant serving up seasonal produce with a contemporary American menu.

Salsa Brava: 928-779-5293- $$
Locally owned by a Flagstaff native, this is a Mexican restaurant, featuring the most popular salsa bar in Flagstaff. The owner of this restaurant has been on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives a couple of times. It’s a comfortable atmosphere with plenty of space for a large party.

Dara Thai: 928-774-0047- $$
Located in downtown Flagstaff, this is one of the most popular Thai restaurants in Flagstaff. Delicious, with a friendly atmosphere. Smaller groups would fit here best.

Taverna Greek Grill: 928-218-9994- $$
This is the only Greek restaurant in Flagstaff, and is large enough for most party sizes. It’s located on the west side of Flagstaff, approximately 10 minutes from the Little America Hotel.

Fat Olives: 928-853-0056- $$
This one has become a favorite for many rafting trips to have their post-trip dinner at in the last couple of years. They have a private room perfect for ordering large portions, which is great for a group. They feature an Italian menu with a rustic pizza oven for oven-fired pizza. One of our absolute favorites here at AzRA!

Charly’s: 928-779-1919- $$
Centrally located right smack dab in the middle of downtown Flagstaff, this is a fun atmosphere with a great bar and American food. Their downstairs features an area with live music many nights of the week. This used to be the most popular place for our rafting groups to meet at the end of the trip, and still is a popular stop.

Pita Jungle: 928-774-0086- $$
This restaurant is centrally located in Flagstaff, so pretty easy to get to. They offer fresh, delicious foods from salmon salads to many vegetarian options. It’s a health-inspired Mediterranean restaurant with a great happy hour. This is the best choice for a smaller party of up to 10.

Black Bart’s Steakhouse: 928-779-3142- $$
If you want something totally different, and a one-of-a-kind experience, try this place out. It is a steakhouse, so you’ll want a group who wants to eat meat, but they feature singing performances all day long of show-stopping entertainment. It’s a wild west theme, perfect for those who want the true Wild West experience that Arizona has to offer. Great for large groups as it’s a very spacious environment. It will be loud because of it’s open feature, and open seating, along with the performances.

Lumberyard Brewing Company: 928-779-2739- $$
This is one of the most iconic brewing companies here in Flagstaff, though there are quite a few of them! This one offers the largest restaurant of them all though, with typical American fare. Their brews and alcoholic drinks are great, along with their fun atmosphere. Groups of all different sizes can be easily accommodated here.

Red Curry Vegan:  928-774-3050 $
If you’re looking for a fully vegan menu, this is the place to go. This restaurant is in downtown Flagstaff, offers vegan Thai options, and has a comfy environment better for smaller parties of no more than 8 or 10.

El Tovar: 928-638-2631. At South Rim of Grand Canyon-$$
This is the most iconic restaurant at the South Rim of Grand Canyon. It’s historic, it’s beautifully decorated, and has stunning views of the rim of the Canyon. They offer American fare. Reservations are required.

When we were in Flag last month, we enjoyed MartAnne’s Breakfast Palace both before and after our trip. Check it out!
