GRAND CANYON YOGA RETREAT - THE ULTIMATE PLACE TO PRACTICE
As far as yoga adventures go, this is a “must do”. Imagine practicing yoga outdoors in one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, the Grand Canyon. Designed for all levels of yoga enthusiasts, the yoga practice on our Grand Canyon Yoga Retreat is seamlessly integrated nto one of our incredible Grand Canyon Colorado River rafting adventures.
The expedition is available on our non-motorized Classic Adventure. The pace of our 14-day full canyon Classic Adventure allows for a balanced trip itinerary to meet everyone’s skill level and desires. One day you may enjoy an early camp and evening yoga session, another day you may spend more time hiking and playing in streams and canyons. Hikes are always optional if you prefer to practice yoga or meditate instead. Sessions will be offered in places such as pristine, quiet alcoves or next to musical side streams.
The yoga instructor for this trip is also one of our river guides, Laura Fallon. Her experience as both a river guide and a yoga instructor gives her the skills needed to lead this Grand Canyon yoga retreat. Laura has guided for us since 2001. She is passionate about guiding and loves sharing her knowledge of the Grand Canyon with guests. She has been traveling across the country teaching and practicing yoga for more than a decade. She blends her experience and training in several styles of yoga to create informative, fun and challenging sessions. Laura believes in the practicality of yoga in daily life and making yoga accessible to all people. Laura also wrote a blog article sharing about why she loves teaching yoga in Grand Canyon. You’ll quickly find her passion for combining yoga and a rafting adventure is contagious.
In order to get to know you, your yoga experience and to plan to provide you with the best Yoga adventure possible, Laura will send you a pre-trip questionnaire inquiring about your current yoga experience and your expectations for the trip. Additionally, she’ll offer you assistance with any pre-trip yoga questions you might have.
Our Grand Canyon Yoga Adventure is the perfect option if you wish to incorporate the practice of yoga on a Grand Canyon rafting trip, or if you desire more time in the Canyon for exploration and personal reflection. Reserve individually on one of our scheduled Grand Canyon yoga retreats or create your own group trip (group discounts available).
View our Yoga Pinterest Page to see some of the fantastic locations where Grand Canyon yoga retreat sessions take place. You do not have to be a yoga enthusiast to book on this trip. In fact, you can use the extra time to relax, paint, or read.
Yoga Adventures are now offered as charter options only, for the time being. There is a possibility we will offer one in 2020. If you’re interested in being contacted for 2020 reservations, fill in the form below.
I loved the Grand Canyon yoga trip! We did yoga every day. I liked the way Laura made it accessible for all levels, yet it always remained optional. I liked the discussion and demos of different styles of yoga, even the Bikram, which I liked in spite of the heat. I’m sorry I didn’t go up the upper hike at Havasu to see the three river guides doing yoga poses while the Mountain sheep was watching!
