Grand Canyon Yoga Retreat – The Ultimate Place to Practice
As far as yoga adventures go, this is a “must do” Grand Canyon yoga retreat. Imagine practicing yoga outdoors in one of the Seven Natural Wonder’s of the World, the Grand Canyon. Designed for all levels of yoga enthusiasts, we will integrate yoga practice seamlessly into one of our incredible Grand Canyon Colorado River rafting adventures. Practice solo or with the group. Reserve individually or create your own group trip.
The trip is available on our non-motorized Classic Adventure. The pace of our 14-day full canyon Classic Adventures allows us to create a balanced trip itinerary to meet everyone’s skill level and desires. One day you may enjoy an early camp and evening yoga session, another day you may spend more time hiking and playing in streams and canyons. Hikes are always optional if you prefer to practice yoga or meditate instead. Sessions will be offered in places such as pristine, quiet alcoves or next to musical side streams.
14-Day Full Canyon Classic Adventure August 5 – 18, 2017 = $3930/person
14-Day Full Canyon Classic Adventure August 7 – 20, 2018 = $3,980/person

“I loved the Grand Canyon yoga trip! We did yoga every day. I liked the way Laura made it accessible for all levels, yet it always remained optional. I liked the discussion and demos of different styles of yoga, even the Bikram, which I liked in spite of the heat. I’m sorry I didn’t go up the upper hike at Havasu to see the three river guides doing yoga poses while the Mountain sheep was watching!”

All meals from lunch on the first day of the trip through lunch on the last day and snacks between meals are included. The menu consists of quality fruits, vegetables, whole grain breads, meats, desserts, and vegetarian and vegan options (upon request). We do our best to purchase items locally and use organic products when available.
We would like to introduce you to one of our river guides and in house yoga instructor Laura Fallon. Her experience as both a river guide and a yoga instructor gives her the skills needed to lead this Grand Canyon yoga retreat. Laura has guided for us since 2001. She is passionate about guiding and loves sharing her knowledge of the Grand Canyon with guests. She has been traveling across the country teaching and practicing yoga for more than a decade. She blends her experience and training in several styles of yoga to create informative, fun and challenging sessions. Laura believes in the practicality of yoga in daily life and making yoga accessible to all people. She says, “Yoga is for everyone and there is no experience or particular skills necessary to begin or maintain a practice.” Not only does she lead an incredible trip, but she commits time before the trip departs to get to know every guest via email. You will be sent a pre-trip questionnaire to inquire of your current yoga level, expectations for joining the trip, and to offer assistance in answering any pre-trip yoga questions you might have. We asked Laura to share with us why she loves teaching in Grand Canyon and she wrote a short article about it for the AzRA Blog. Her passion for combining yoga and a rafting adventure is contagious.
