A Family Adventure

The Perfect Family Adventure

Imagine taking the time to spend quality time unlike any other you’ve had together. Imagine unplugging together, taking the time for long conversations and quiet moments together. Imagine being able to play together like you rarely get to play at home.

Imagine an experience where you and your family are together in an environment perfect for deepening family bonds, promoting togetherness, and just plain having fun!  A rafting trip through the Grand Canyon is all of that and more.  It’s a time to check out from the many distractions that take away from the precious time we have with loved ones and friends: phones, internet, video games, and all the other minutia of daily life.  And it’s a time to experience the outdoors together: swimming, hiking, sleeping under the stars, soaking in waterfalls, jumping, throwing rocks, and quietly putting your feet in a creek next to each other.

Exploring new activities, viewing wildlife, learning river history and folklore, as well as the excitement of whitewater rafting creates unforgettable memories for the whole family. Side hike adventures will challenge your family with canyon exploration and having side stream adventures together.

It is hard to determine one highlight. It was a great family trip and allowed me to see my children expand their horizons. It was wonderful to watch the guides help bring out the best in the kids. The beauty of the canyon and the exhilaration of the river exceeded my expectations.” – D. Williams 2011

While we enjoyed everything about the trip, we all enjoyed the side hikes. Jumping from waterfalls, swimming down the Little Colorado River, and seeing ancient pictographs made for incredible family memories.” – Passenger J. Doyle 2011

When? And what type of trip?
Summer break is a great time for families with younger teens and preteens to raft in Grand Canyon, when the hotter weather is conducive to getting doused in rapids, splashing and cavorting in the river, as well as enjoying the many side streams and waterfalls that are visited on all trips. Our Motor Adventures are great for families with generation gaps, as we take kids as young as ten and there is no upper age limit as long as one is healthy. The Motor Adventure is a great opportunity for grandparents to adventure vacation with grandchildren.

If your kids are slightly older and looking for a more active trip, you might find the Classic Adventure the best choice for 12 and older. If your kids are 16 or older, and have previous rafting experience, the All-Paddle Adventure might be the best choice.

Whether you are a family with preteens or teenagers, or a family with adult children that you want to spend valuable time with, our guides and support staff understand the importance of creating a memorable vacation and we believe our trips provide a perfect family escape.
